DBRS Releases Updated Criteria:Support Assessment for Banks and Banking Organisations;No Rtng Impact

DBRS has today published its Criteria: Support Assessment for Banks and Banking Organisations This criteria updates the Criteria: Intrinsic and Support Assessments, February 2009. This updated criteria addresses in more detail how DBRS evaluates and incorporates internal and external support into the ratings of banks, banking organisations and their subsidiaries, and certain other financial institutions. This criteria becomes effective on 24th January 2014.

This criteria was submitted for public consultation during a Request for Comment period from 20th November to 20th December, 2013. No substantial changes were made to the final criteria as a result of the comments received. Confidentiality was requested by the respondents on all comments received.

While the criteria has been significantly revised for greater clarity, the changes overall are not substantive and there were no rating changes or rating actions caused by the publication of this criteria.
